Gum Arabic was known as an article of commerce since the year 4000 B.C and was widely used in Egypt during the Pharaoh's Civilization in the preparation of ink,water colors and dyes. Gum Arabic consists chiefly of calcium,potassium and magnesium salts of high molecular weigh polysaccharide which on hydrolysis yield aravinonse,galactose rhamnose and glucuronic acid and low protein content.
