Compressed cocopeat briquettes are available as: Washed material, E.C. < 1.0 mS/cm. Unwashed material, E.C. > 2 mS/cm. Buffered R.H.P.-material (chemical treated ) E.C. < 1.0 mS/cm. Washed and unwashed material is produced according to RHP regulations. Buffered material is RHP-certified (commercial potting soil regulation). Dhaarshan Coir Pith Coir pith or cocopeat or coir peat or coir dust, is a by-product as accumulating piles of short coir fibre staples (2mm or less in size) and small husk particles called dust (pith) during the extraction process of long coir fibre from the coconut husk. The husk which grows around the hard coconut contains both fibres and fine materials. After most of the fibre has been removed we are left with those fine materials which have been used for many years as a substrate called Cocopeat or Coir-pith. Advantages of Coir Pith Coir pith has many positive properties. The most important advantages of coir pith are: Coir pith is 100% Natural, an organic Bio-degradable matter. Coir pith is an Eco-friendly renewable resource. Coir pith is a viable alternative to peat moss. Coir pith is a perfect multipurpose growing media. The right coir pith has high aeration. Coir pith absorbs water easily but doesnt absorb too much. Coir pith is a very stable product that can be used for many years without decomposition affecting its physical make-up.
